Birds of Kenya and Northern Tanzania by Pearson, David J.,Turner, Donald A.,Zimmerman, Dale A. and a great selection of related books, art and collectibles available now at Jeannette told me it's funny and heartwarming--a love story about birds and Kenya--and she was right! A Guide to the Birds of East Africa seems at first a charming but slight book, even a silly one. The plot has more speedy twists and turns than a black mamba but it's much friendlier/5.

Birds of East Africa is the first comprehensive field guide to this spectacular birding region--and one of the best to any region in the world. Covering all resident, migrant, and vagrant birds of Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi, this small and compact guide describes and illustrates a remarkable 1, species in convenient facing-page s: However, coming back from Kenya 3 years ago with around images of wildlife and a fading memory this book has helped me identify the birds quite easily. The birds are grouped into species/varieties, the images and descriptions are quite clear. Can't believe there is such a variety of birds Reviews:

This field guide is an abridged edition of the very successful Birds of Kenya and Northern Tanzania written by the same authors. It covers all bird species known from the region, including book combines the format and detailed treatment of the larger version with the convenience of a field the species are illustrated with full details of all the plumages and Author: Dale A. Zimmerman.   Birds of Kenya: More Safari Photos (page 1) J February 3, Kevin Revolinski 8 Comments africa, birds, kenya, safari, wildlife Obviously, there is much more to the wildlife of Kenya than just the Big Five (Lion, Elephant, Cape Buffalo, Leopard and Rhino), and for those who don’t get obsessive about tracking those big.

As unfortunately my book arrived late and I went to Kenya without it, I used the guide's guide (!) a s:   This book is a wonderful resource and provides a good overview of what birds to expect in Kenya and Tanzania. We didn't use it in the field due to its size but the colorful plates, helpful information and maps help birders identify where to go when visiting/5(4).

More than bird species can be found in Kenya. The bird species I have photographed so far are mostly the common and conspicuous species, especially those that inhabit towns and farmlands.

I know i'm not a bird expert because I work with plenty who are. This collection of bird images from my last photo tour in Africa is by no means complete, but is intended to share the amazing diversity and spectacular characters that are flittering around the wilds of Kenya.
